Reality 101
Reality 101, a cooperative venture between Asheboro City Schools, Randolph County Schools, Randolph Community College, and the Randolph County Economic Development Corporation, is a program designed to give classroom teachers the opportunity to learn more about career opportunities in Randolph County.
Teachers participating in the program are Career and Technical educators who contribute to the broad academic achievement of students, as well as encouraging students to prepare for occupations in which demand is greatest, as well as those that best fit their talents and interests.
Through a series of planned tours, teachers get first hand information about the state of the industry including the qualifications and opportunities for employment. Information provided is then shared with students in order to enhance the relevance of the curriculum. Tours included visits to Elastic Therapy, Timken, Moll Industries, Rubber Mill, Metals USA, Energizer plants, First National Bank, Randolph Hospital, REMC and Klaussner Furniture.
